Why This Site Exists

Lecoko started as a personal project. After years of photographing across Malaysia, from Kuala Lumpur street scenes to Borneo rainforests, I kept encountering the same gaps in available information. Generic photography tutorials rarely address tropical humidity, equatorial light, or the specific challenges of shooting in Southeast Asia.

This site fills that gap. Every article draws from actual experience: equipment that survived monsoon season, techniques that work in Cameron Highlands mist, and locations worth the journey. Nothing here is theoretical.

Our Approach

We focus on practical, actionable content. When we recommend a lens or technique, it is because we have used it extensively in Malaysian conditions. We do not accept sponsored products or affiliate arrangements that could compromise objectivity. All equipment is purchased independently.

We avoid jargon where possible. When technical terms are necessary, we explain them. The goal is useful information for photographers at various experience levels, whether you are visiting Malaysia for a week or living here long-term.

What You Will Find Here

Guides on tropical light, equipment choices for humid environments, location recommendations with practical access notes, and technique articles adapted for Malaysian conditions. We also link to authoritative external resources when they offer deeper coverage of a topic.
